Coming Up....ISB Visit

I am going to Hyderabad this weekend. Visit to ISB and interaction with consulting club / aspirants is on cards. Our firm would like to know students (actually those interesed in consulting) as much as possible before we get into PPT and actual placement stage. Placement interviews should, ideally, be the stage at which we are testing those students that we already got to know through interactions at the school and felt were good for consulting.

Consulting is not for those who are fine with any good career. Consulting demands a set of attributes and habits. Telling students what these are and giving them time enough to figure out if they are made for consulting / develop skills necessary for consulting is an important role of a recruiter. Some people, it appears, are naturally made for consulting. Some others can prepare to be consultants (like me).Knowing what is required to know of the firm is again important to decide the firm one wants to join. Our second effort will be to say as much about the firm as required. We will look for opportunities to visit campus where these two objectives of apprising about the firm and knowing students can be achieved.

My 2 cents

With regards to your previous post on writing skills, the Economist Style guide ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/186197535X/ref=cm_cr_dp_pt/103-3754689-1378202?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books) is an relatively economical way of adopting the Economist writing style.

Good to know that you are coming along fine in Consulting.
