Formula for a successful organization

There are books about why some companies became successful. These are based on research on the successful companies. And there are books about how some companies went from good to great. These are based on comparisons between good and great.

How would anyone know, as someone said, if the companies that failed did not follow the same things that these good or even great companies did?

Now this about how some companies sustain/grow and some fall apart. The claim is that they are asking good questions and not necessarily going after right answers.

Putting a formula to what is more of  randomness than any science is playing god.

PS:
1. Else we should have many more of good companies. Don't see many of them around.
2. What is good? A good question.
3. Taleb will like me.
