Marriage and Hope

Sometimes you work a whole lot of time on something, and then suddenly give it up. I wonder why our Macroeconomics prof at ISB kept saying man is rational.
*
When two people are together and they have nothing to speak, it is likely that, when a good amount of time passes, one person will speak something stupid. That is fine. But the sorry thing is that the other person will hold it against the first person. He would just never know that he would have said the stupid thing himself if the first person had kept silence a little longer.
*
Fear of the unknown makes man superstitious. Marriage is one such unknown. Hence, Astrology. But all that is required to have a successful marriage is to be what you want your partner to be.
*
Obama would be wondering what people want. Hope. He stood for it and not long ago. Now that one year has past and he could not deliver any magic, he no longer offers hope. People go in search of a new symbol of hope#.
*
ISB, my alma mater, was ranked 12th in the FT business school rankings. Ask a current ISB student - competing with hundreds of other equally good or better colleagues for good jobs on campus- about this ranking. It means little if it does not convert to a good job. Ask a b-school aspirant about this ranking. For him, this is a great reason to want to shortlist the school and persist. Ask an alumnus - wait - he is already putting it on facebook / twitter / blogs - everywhere.

PS: # btw, God is an eternal source of hope. Alas, he does not stand for elections. Yeah, he does not need to.
