Shiv Sena, SRK and Common Man

@iamsrk and shiv sena controversy has everyone tweeting and debating on TV. But will this change anything? Shiv Sena's power is derived from the fact that it can garner mobs in no time. These mobs, as is usual with mobs, are raging and thus become capable of hurting or even killing anyone. Groups of people, common people, when isolated - say, on the way back from work, when it is usually dark - are quite vulnerable. There is family waiting for them. Why would such common men and women, who are otherwise leading a normal life, raise voice and get themselves into trouble.

To think India is a clean democracy and there are laws is delusional. We have always had this strong element of mobocracy operating in India; and laws have been bent according to the whim and convenience of powerful people.

To most in India what matter is daily bread. While political instincts tend to want one to be more vocal and come out strongly with action, fear and need to be with family are a stronger instinct.

PS: Even a mob is made of common people. Except that they are usually brainwashed and carried away. It serves them no good. But such it goes.
